During the research process, 12 possible locations were studied, from which three were selected as the most suitable: Mukhiani, Shindisi, and the expansion of the existing landfill territory. 1TV+4
According to Kaladze, criteria such as access to the territory, transport routes, the need for land acquisition, functional zoning, terrain, and the possibility of future development were evaluated during the study. As a result, the existing territory was named the most favorable, which has the potential for expansion over the next 20 years. 1TV+5
According to the Mayor, the construction of a new landfill would take approximately four years, and this step would not solve the existing problems by itself. Kaladze noted that the City Hall's goal is a long-term solution to the problem, and for this purpose, the construction of a leachate treatment plant at the landfill is already underway. According to POSTV, the cost of this treatment plant is 6.5 million euros. 1TV+4
