Five foreign citizens arrested in Kvemo Kartli on charges of drug-related crimes

Employees of the Kvemo Kartli and Patrol Police departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested five individuals on charges of drug-related crimes. According to the agency, the detainees are foreign citizens. 1TV+4

As a result of searching the accused individuals' persons and temporary residential apartments, as well as locations indicated by them, law enforcement officers seized as evidence a particularly large amount of various types of narcotic substances prepared for sale, including "cocaine", "hashish", and "opium". The police also seized materials necessary for packaging drugs and money presumably obtained as a result of the sale. 1TV+4

Within the framework of the investigation, based on a judge's warrant, law enforcement officers carried out a controlled purchase of narcotic substances from one of the detainees and performed covert audio-video recording of it. The investigation into the case is ongoing under Articles 260, 260-ter, and 260-quater of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life imprisonment. 1TV+3
