The cast and crew of Stranger Things gathered Thursday night at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre for the world premiere of the Netflix series’ fifth and final season, marking the end of an era for the cultural phenomenon that debuted nine years ago.deadline
Stars Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke walked the red carpet for the event, which coincided with Stranger Things Day—commemorating the November 6, 1983 date when Will Byers vanished in the series premiere. The Duffer Brothers, the show’s creators, joined the cast at the premiere.red94
Netflix shared video of Brown and Harbour arriving together, with the pair hugging and laughing on the red carpet. “David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown arrive together for one last Stranger Things premiere,” Netflix posted. The public display of warmth came five days after The Daily Mail reported Brown had filed a harassment and bullying complaint against Harbour before filming the final season began. Neither Brown, Harbour, nor Netflix has publicly addressed the allegations.hellomagazine
The final season will debut across three dates: Volume 1 with four episodes launches November 26 at 5 p.m. PT, Volume 2 with three episodes arrives Christmas Day, and the series finale premieres on New Year’s Eve. Each installment will release simultaneously worldwide. The two-hour finale, titled “The Rightside Up,” will also premiere in more than 350 theaters nationwide, staying through January 1.deadline
The season picks up in autumn 1987, with Hawkins scarred by the Rifts and under military quarantine. Following the premiere, Netflix released the first five minutes of the season, which returns to November 12, 1983—six days after Will’s disappearance—showing a de-aged Noah Schnapp as 12-year-old Will in the Upside Down.deadline
