The current AC/DC lineup features founding member Angus Young on lead guitar and longtime vocalist Brian Johnson, who returned to the band in 2018 after hearing issues forced his departure in 2016. Joining them are rhythm guitarist Stevie Young (nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young), drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney.njarts
Johnson’s return has been particularly significant for fans, as Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose had to complete the final 22 shows of AC/DC’s 2016 Rock or Bust tour when Johnson stepped away due to hearing loss. The Power Up album, released in 2020, marked Johnson’s first studio work with the band since his health-related departure.forbes
The Power Up album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 117,000 equivalent album units in its first week and becoming the largest sales week for a rock album in 2020. The album topped charts in 21 countries worldwide and represents AC/DC’s 17th studio release.billboard
