Within the framework of the program, displaced families will have the opportunity to receive monetary compensation instead of housing, which will be entirely voluntary. To receive the compensation, displaced persons must submit an application to the relevant agency of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs. 1TV+5
The amount of compensation is 10,000 GEL for each member of the family. According to the Prime Minister's explanation, in the case of a four-member family, the compensation amounts to 40,000 GEL. According to Kobakhidze, the government's expectation is that the funds will be used to provide housing, although the final decision is the family's choice. 1TV+9
58 million GEL has been allocated for this program in the current year, and the compensations will be issued according to the order in which applications are submitted. The Prime Minister noted that in parallel with the monetary compensations, the construction of residential buildings and the "House in the Village" program will continue for those families who do not submit an application for compensation. 1TV+5
