Foreign citizen arrested at Lagodekhi border checkpoint
- Law enforcement officers prevented the illegal importation of an especially large amount of narcotic drugs into Georgia.

1TV+4 - Law enforcement officers seized up to 12 kilograms of "marijuana" from a hiding place in the accused's truck.

Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance arrested a foreign citizen. The accused is charged with illegal purchase, possession, and importation of an especially large amount of narcotic drugs into Georgia. 1TV+2
Law enforcement officers inspected the truck driven by the accused at the territory of the "Lagodekhi" border checkpoint. As a result of a detailed inspection, up to 12 kilograms of "marijuana" packaged in 2 bundles were seized as evidence from a special hiding place installed in the vehicle's cabin. 1TV+4
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code. These articles provide for a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment. 1TV+3
