Giorgi Sioridze called on the Public Defender of Georgia not to remain outside the process and to use the authority granted by law to present a legal position or conclusion. The party believes that in conditions where institutional protection mechanisms are collapsing, the ombudsman must protect human rights and assess the constitutionality of restricting political rights. 1TV+3
According to Sioridze's explanation, in the lawsuit, criticism of the government's foreign policy is presented as "state sabotage," which creates a dangerous precedent. He said that if the Constitutional Court satisfies the lawsuit, the "policy of not provoking" Russia could become a mandatory rule of the country's political life, which would threaten the Euro-Atlantic course defined by Article 78 of the Constitution. 1TV+1
