Mtskheta District Court sentences two individuals to life imprisonment

The Mtskheta District Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the prosecution and found two individuals guilty of premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances. The court determined the measure of punishment for both defendants to be life imprisonment. Imedi+4

During the court proceedings, it was established that on March 10, 2026, in the village of Baga, Dusheti Municipality, the defendants inflicted a wound on the victim by firing a firearm, as a result of which the victim died. According to the prosecution, the crime was committed out of revenge, with particular cruelty, and in the presence of the spouse, whose life and health the defendants endangered. Imedi+2

Law enforcement officers arrested the defendants on March 14. They were charged under sub-clauses "b", "i", "m", and "p" of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which entails premeditated murder committed by a group, with particular cruelty, repeatedly, and by means that endanger the life and health of others.
