According to Qeinishvili, she made the decision so as not to harm the interests of the state and the reputation of the National Bank. The Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Nana Qeinishvili based on information provided by the National Bank. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the case concerns illegal participation in entrepreneurial activities by an official or a person equated to them. The investigation was launched based on statements and audio recordings from the heads of LLC "Bitexchange," according to which Qeinishvili was involved in entrepreneurial activities and controlled enterprises subject to National Bank regulation. 1TV+2

After the investigation began, the National Bank made the decision to recuse Nana Qeinishvili.
