Tbilisi City Hall denies information regarding the construction of a hotel on Rike

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to information circulated by lawyer Irakli Abesadze that the company owning the "Rike Pipes" had applied to Tbilisi City Hall with a request to change the recreational zone. According to Kaladze, this information is a "lie" that is being used for a "one-day PR campaign". Tbilisi City Hall notes in an official statement that the information that the company "Rike Dome" is requesting a permit for the construction of a 10-story hotel on the Rike territory is a "complete lie" and serves to misinform the public. According to the agency, an application has been submitted to the Tbilisi Municipality LEPL Transport and Urban Development Agency requesting the approval of a planning task for a zoning regulation plan for the Rike territory. 1TV+6

According to the City Hall's explanation, the mentioned application is not accompanied by the documentation required for review, including a project proposal, an explanatory note, and a sketch version of the development, which must subsequently be reviewed by the Cultural Heritage Protection Council. Consequently, according to the City Hall, at this stage, the municipality is not reviewing the application, and even less so any kind of construction project. 1TV+4
