1TV+41TV+31TV+5The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has released a statement regarding the European Commission's enlargement policy report published on November 4, 2026. According to the agency's assessment, the document contains factual inaccuracies and erroneous assessments, which contributes to the reinforcement of anti-Georgian narratives and reduces the space for constructive dialogue with the European Union. 1TV+8
The Ministry asserts that the European Union side, based on the conclusions of June 27, 2024, under the pretext of suspending dialogue, did not hold meetings provided for by the Association Agreement, which complicated an objective assessment of progress. The agency also considers it unacceptable for the report to attempt to portray the government's activities as "state capture," which, according to the Ministry's explanation, is the elected government's obligation to the voters. 1TV+5
The foreign affairs agency states that the report politicizes legal issues based on selective analysis, which is an attempt to interfere in the country's internal affairs. Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes that the Georgian side will study the document in detail and submit substantiated comments to the European Commission, while the government remains ready for an open and constructive dialogue with the European Union. 1TV+6
