Two individuals arrested in Tbilisi on charges of group fraud

Employees of the Tbilisi Police Department's Main Investigative Division, the Anti-Fraud Division, and the Main Detective Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested two individuals based on a judge's warrant. They are charged with fraudulently obtaining a large amount of money as a group. 1TV+3

According to the investigation, the accused offered citizens to temporarily transfer money, supposedly for their own business activities. In return, they promised the victims the payment of monthly interest and the return of the principal amount within an agreed timeframe. However, as the agency states, the accused did not pay the agreed interest nor did they return the principal amount to the citizens. 1TV+2

According to information from law enforcement, as a result of these actions, the victims suffered damages of 275,000 GEL. The investigation is ongoing under Article 180, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for up to 9 years for the crime. 1TV+3
