Vintage has begun in Kakheti

In Kakheti, the vintage traditionally began in the Dedoplistskaro municipality. According to the National Wine Agency, the process is proceeding in stages in the region according to the ripeness and condition of the grapes, and up to 2.7 thousand tons of grapes have already been processed. At this stage, 230 wine companies are registered in the vintage coordination headquarters, and the forecast for this year's harvest is within the range of 320 thousand tons. 1TV+3

By the decision of the Government of Georgia, in case of a surplus harvest, viticulturists will have the opportunity to store their grapes. For this purpose, LLC "Harvest Management Company" will purchase grapes from individuals under established conditions. The price for conditioned and undamaged Saperavi, in case of sugar content above 21%, is 1.50 GEL; for sugar content between 17% and 21% or partial damage — 0.90 GEL; and in case of sugar content less than 17% or damage — 0.30 GEL. For other varieties, the price for grapes with sugar content above 20% and undamaged is 1.30 GEL; for sugar content between 17% and 20% — 0.80 GEL; and for sugar content less than 17% — 0.30 GEL. 1TV+3
