‘Paddington’ producers to adapt ‘Mr. Men Little Miss’ for film

The team behind the blockbuster Paddington franchise has announced their next family film project: the first-ever feature adaptation of Roger Hargreaves’ beloved Mr. Men Little Miss characters.

Studiocanal and Heyday Films revealed today they are developing the film in partnership with Mister Men Limited, a Sanrio Group company. The announcement builds on Studiocanal and Heyday’s success with Paddington, which has become the largest independent family franchise of all time. Since Sanrio acquired the Mr. Men Little Miss brand in 2011, the character roster has expanded to more than 90, including special editions inspired by cultural icons. The franchise remains the top-selling children’s book series in France and a leading preschool brand in the United Kingdom.variety

The film will build on a new animated series currently streaming on YouTube and a second series in production for television.
