An Israeli airstrike early Saturday struck an apartment building in Gaza City, killing a father and his two young daughters, as the enclave continues to endure near-daily attacks more than eight months after a ceasefire took effect.
The strike hit the Safadi family home near the Al-Tayaran junction in Gaza City around 2 a.m. local time, according to medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital. Eyewitnesses identified the dead as Hussein Safadi and his daughters Zeina, 6, and Lana, 13. Reports from Anadolu Agency indicated their mother Rana was also killed, bringing the family’s death toll to four. Several other family members and nearby residents were wounded.sfgate

The October 2025 ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was meant to halt major fighting, but the Gaza Health Ministry says more than 1,010 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the truce began. The Gaza Government Media Office documented 3,338 Israeli violations of the ceasefire over 251 days, according to a document shared with international mediators. Those violations include live fire, airstrikes, shelling, home demolitions, and civilian detentions.washingtonpost
The document also states that only 54,023 of the 150,600 aid trucks expected under the agreement have entered the Strip. Israel maintains its strikes target imminent threats from Hamas and other militants.straitstimes
