Elliot Page is reuniting with Christopher Nolan fifteen years after their collaboration on Inception, bringing renewed personal significance to his return to the acclaimed director’s universe. Speaking at New York Comic-Con on October 12, Page shared his enthusiasm about joining the cast of The Odyssey, Nolan’s ambitious adaptation of Homer’s epic poem.
“I loved working with him on Inception,” Page told the audience during an X-Men: Days of Future Past panel. “I was so excited to be thought of for [The Odyssey] and to be asked to come back to work with him.” After meeting with Nolan to discuss the role and reading the screenplay in a secure room, Page described the experience as “such a joy to come back.”people
Page, who came out as transgender in 2020, revealed how his transition has transformed his approach to filmmaking. “To come back now, as you can imagine, being more just comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable,” he explained. The actor emphasized that this reunion with Nolan holds particular meaning for him personally, stating it “meant so much to me.”people
In his memoir Pageboy, Page previously detailed how filming Inception coincided with struggles around gender dysphoria that made him physically unwell during production. The contrast between then and now highlights his journey toward self-acceptance and authenticity.yahoo
The Odyssey represents Nolan’s most ambitious project yet, with an estimated $250 million budget making it his most expensive film. The production marks the first commercial feature shot entirely using IMAX cameras, utilizing new technology that is 30% quieter and lighter than previous models. Filming took place across multiple continents, including locations in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Scotland, Iceland, and Sicily’s Favignana island, believed to be where Odysseus and his crew stopped in Homer’s tale.wikipedia
The star-studded cast includes Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, along with Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Jon Bernthal. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on July 17, 2026.people
