The Patriarchate did not grant accreditation to “Formula” and “TV Pirveli” for the Svetitskhovloba holiday

The Patriarchate of Georgia revoked the accreditation of television companies "Formula" and "TV Pirveli" for the Mtskhetoba and Svetitskhovloba holiday; consequently, they will not have the right to cover the holiday. The head of the Patriarchate's Public Relations Service, Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze, explains that the mentioned decision is conditioned by the fact that representatives of these television companies, despite multiple warnings, have systematically violated the internal regulations in effect on the church grounds for years and arbitrarily left the space designated for the media. According to the archpriest, the journalists created a situation unsuitable for divine service and tried to shift the public's attention from the essence of the holiday to artificially created confrontation. According to Andria Jagmaidze, the purpose of the restriction is not to hinder the activities of the media, but to hold the church holiday in a peaceful environment, to protect liturgical order and the interests of pilgrims.
