The Public Defender's Office responds to reports circulated in the media, according to which the agency responded with a delay to the fact of alleged ill-treatment of the accused Davit Peikrishvili in Penitentiary Establishment No. 8. According to the agency's explanation, on October 19, 2026, at 16:31, a notification was received on the hotline regarding the alleged ill-treatment of Davit Peikrishvili and a request for his visit. The interested person was explained that the information would be passed to the authorized department and the prisoner would be visited in the shortest possible time. Formula+1

Refusal of the meeting

According to the Public Defender's Office, on the same day their representative arrived at Penitentiary Establishment No. 8, however, the accused Davit Peikrishvili refused to meet with him.
