Kojima Productions has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Niantic Spatial to develop an augmented reality game that promises to bring entertainment experiences into the real world. Kojima described the project as a revolutionary step beyond conventional gaming platforms. “I can’t really speak about details yet but, if you’re climbing a mountain… there’s still entertainment there,” Kojima explained during the livestream. “It’s like the real Death Stranding in the real world, and you can connect with people, or you can connect with the actual environment there in your city. Previously it was like virtual reality, but this time I’m thinking about connecting with the real environment.”ign

The project will utilize Niantic Spatial’s advanced mapping and AI capabilities, including their Visual Positioning System that can precisely locate users in real-world environments.
