Stellantis, Wayve, and Uber announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding on June 17, 2026, to jointly develop and deploy Level 4 driverless robotaxi services across Europe, North America, and other regions.ansa
Under the agreement, each company brings a distinct capability to the partnership. Stellantis will design, engineer, and manufacture vehicles using its L4-Ready Platforms, which integrate sensor suites and safety redundancies required for high-intensity driverless operations. Wayve, the London-based AI driving startup, will supply its end-to-end autonomous driving software, which the company says can adapt to new cities without requiring high-definition maps for each location. Uber will deploy the vehicles through its global ride-hailing network, connecting passengers to autonomous rides via its app.sina

The trilateral agreement deepens a web of bilateral relationships already linking the three firms. In May 2026, Stellantis and Wayve announced a strategic technology partnership to integrate Wayve’s AI Driver into the STLA AutoDrive platform for Level 2++ supervised automated driving, with a first vehicle launch planned in North America in 2028. Separately, Wayve and Uber have been advancing Level 4 trials in London — where Uber opened an interest list for robotaxi rides in early June — and signed an MoU with Nissan in March 2026 to pilot robotaxis in Tokyo by late this year.wayve
Uber has committed up to $300 million in milestone-based capital to support Wayve’s multi-city robotaxi rollout, which targets more than ten cities globally.thenextweb
The announcement places the Stellantis-Wayve-Uber trio alongside a separate consortium that Stellantis formed in late 2025 with NVIDIA, Uber, and Foxconn to develop NVIDIA-software-driven Level 4 robotaxis, with Stellantis planning to supply at least 5,000 vehicles for Uber operations. The MoU is non-binding and leaves each partner free to pursue additional autonomous driving alliances independently.yahoo
