Snowflake announced the availability of Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 on its Cortex AI platform, making the cloud data company a same-day launch partner for the AI firm’s most powerful publicly available model. The integration, now in private preview, allows enterprise customers to run the Mythos-class model within Snowflake’s security perimeter for use with Snowflake CoCo, Cortex Agents, and other Snowflake AI tools.startuphub
Claude Fable 5, released by Anthropic on Tuesday, is the first generally available model built on the company’s Mythos architecture — the same model line Anthropic initially withheld from broad release due to concerns about its cybersecurity capabilities. In testing, the underlying Mythos model identified and exploited zero-day vulnerabilities in every major operating system and web browser when directed to do so.cnbc
To make a public release possible, Anthropic added a layer of safety classifiers. When Fable 5 detects requests related to cybersecurity, biology, chemistry, or model distillation, it automatically routes the response to the older Claude Opus 4.8 model and notifies the user. Anthropic says more than 95% of sessions involve no such fallback. The model is priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.techcrunch
The Cortex AI integration is designed to let Snowflake customers apply Fable 5’s capabilities — particularly in coding, agentic workflows, and data analysis — without data leaving Snowflake’s platform. According to Snowflake’s announcement, the model powers enhanced reasoning and code generation through Snowflake CoCo, the company’s coding assistant formerly known as Cortex Code, and can accelerate the creation of AI agents from natural language.constellationr
The partnership comes amid Snowflake’s broader push at its 2026 Summit to position the platform as a unified control plane for enterprise AI, with more than 26 new capabilities announced across data interoperability, streaming, and custom model training.linkedin
Snowflake was not the only cloud platform to secure early access. Microsoft also made Fable 5 available on the same day through its Foundry service, powering agents in GitHub Copilot and Foundry Agent Service. Anthropic’s own page lists Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud as additional distribution partners. Through June 22, Fable 5 is included at no extra cost for Anthropic’s Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise subscribers before shifting to a usage-credit model.techcrunch
