Prime Video unveiled the first trailer for Spider-Noir on Wednesday, confirming the eight-episode series starring Nicolas Cage will premiere globally on May 27, 2026. The show will debut two days earlier, on May 25, on MGM+’s linear channel in the United States before arriving on the streaming platform.screenrant
The trailer offers viewers their first extended look at Cage as Ben Reilly, a jaded private investigator and retired superhero in 1930s New York who once fought crime under the moniker “The Spider”. The series marks a departure from Cage’s previous portrayal of the character in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where he voiced Peter Parker. Showrunner Oren Uziel described this version of Reilly as “a guy whose hero complex has devolved into a mid-life crisis” who “has already experienced his entire arc and has seen it all”.yahoo
The series carries the tagline “With no power comes no responsibility,” a sardonic inversion of the iconic Spider-Man phrase. In keeping with classic noir aesthetics, Spider-Noir will be available in two distinct viewing formats: “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color,” with the trailer itself released in both versions.wikipedia
Produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series reunites Cage with the Spider-Verse creative team. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the Academy Award-winning producers behind the animated franchise, serve as executive producers alongside Amy Pascal. Harry Bradbeer, the Emmy-winning director behind Fleabag and Killing Eve, directed and executive produced the first two episodes.comicbookmovie
The ensemble features Brendan Gleeson as mob boss Silvermane, the series’ central antagonist whose multiple assassination attempts drive the plot. Jack Huston plays Flint Marko, the civilian identity of Spider-Man villain Sandman, reimagined here as hired muscle. Li Jun Li portrays Cat Hardy, a lounge singer and femme fatale inspired by Black Cat, while Lamorne Morris appears as journalist Robbie Robertson.gamesradar
Karen Rodriguez rounds out the core cast as Janet, Ben Reilly’s secretary, forming a tight investigative team with Reilly and Robertson. The action-filled trailer teases web-swinging sequences reminiscent of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and hints at a fiery character who may be a new interpretation of Molten Man.reddit
The series arrives ahead of a packed Spider-Man calendar, with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day scheduled for theaters on July 31, 2026.screenrant
