Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra Debuts With Nvidia RTX Spark at Computex 2026

Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra on Sunday at Computex 2026 in Taipei, marking the company’s most powerful Surface laptop to date and one of the first Windows PCs to run on Nvidia’s new RTX Spark superchip. The announcement represents a notable shift for the Surface line, which has historically relied on Intel and AMD processors, toward an Arm-based architecture built with Nvidia and MediaTek.

A New Chip Architecture

The RTX Spark at the heart of the Surface Laptop Ultra is a system-on-chip combining a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU — developed with MediaTek using TSMC’s 3-nanometer process — with a Blackwell-architecture GPU packing 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores. The chip supports up to 128GB of unified memory shared between CPU and GPU, and Nvidia claims it delivers one petaflop of AI compute — enough to run AI models with up to 120 billion parameters locally, without relying on cloud services. Surface Laptop Ultra Specs

The Surface Laptop Ultra features a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen with 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness and a pixel density of 262 pixels per inch — the brightest display Microsoft has shipped on any Surface device.
