Meta Platforms on Monday unveiled a suite of AI-powered tools for Facebook, led by “AI Mode,” a feature that allows users to search the platform using natural language and receive synthesized answers drawn from publicly shared posts, Groups, and Reels. The announcement represents the company’s most direct effort to transform Facebook’s search experience using the Muse Spark model that powers its AI assistant.investing
AI Mode uses Meta AI to provide answers based on publicly shared content across Meta’s platforms, effectively turning Facebook’s vast archive of user-generated posts into a searchable knowledge base. The feature builds on capabilities Meta first previewed in April when it launched Muse Spark, which introduced the ability to “surface rich and relevant context” from communities and public posts directly into AI-powered conversations. At the time, Meta said users could “ask what people are buzzing about and get the full picture, pulled from content and community posts”.fb
The search capability has drawn attention from Wall Street. Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak projected in a June research note that if the tool captures a meaningful share of daily searches, it could generate over $10 billion in annual revenue, helping justify Meta’s massive AI spending. Nowak reiterated Meta as a “top pick” with a $775 price target.yahoo
Beyond search, Meta introduced AI photo presets and creative editing tools for Facebook. The company has been steadily adding AI-powered content creation features, including collage tools that scan camera rolls and suggest edits, restyling options, and themed content. The latest batch of features arrives alongside World Cup 2026 tie-ins, with Meta’s “wear it” AI Edit feature inviting fans to virtually try on jerseys from national teams and share selfies. Facebook users can also activate “football mode” by double-tapping the Facebook logo to transform the app into a World Cup-themed experience.macrumors
The announcements fit into Meta’s broader push to embed AI across its family of apps. Since launching Muse Spark in April, Meta has rolled out shopping mode, voice conversations, and multimodal perception features across its platforms. The company has also introduced a creator assistant on Facebook and expanded its Edits video app with AI capabilities. Meta expects total revenues between $53.5 billion and $56.5 billion for the first quarter of 2026, reflecting growth driven in large part by AI-enhanced advertising and engagement tools.nasdaq
