Supabase, the open-source Postgres development platform, announced on Thursday a $500 million Series F funding round at a $10.5 billion post-money valuation, more than doubling its value since raising $100 million at a $5 billion valuation in October 2025.cnbc
The round was led by GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, with participation from all existing investors including Accel, Y Combinator, Craft, Felicis, Peak XV, and Coatue. Stripe made its second investment in the company, while Georgian and Salesforce Ventures joined as new investors.prnewswire
The funding brings Supabase’s total capital raised to over $1 billion and arrives as the company positions itself at the center of the “vibe coding” movement — the trend of using AI to generate software from natural language prompts. CNBC reported that the phenomenon has driven demand for Supabase’s backend infrastructure, which bundles database, authentication, storage, and APIs on top of PostgreSQL.morningstar
Founded in 2020 as an open-source alternative to Google’s Firebase, Supabase has seen its valuation surge from $2 billion a year ago to $5 billion in October 2025 and now $10.5 billion — a fivefold increase in roughly 12 months.linkedin
Alongside the funding announcement, Supabase released a preview of Multigres, an open-source horizontal scaling layer for Postgres. The tool addresses a longstanding limitation: teams that outgrow a single Postgres instance have historically been forced to migrate to entirely different database systems. Multigres brings sharding, zero-downtime migrations, and high availability to the Postgres ecosystem.supabase
The project is led by Sugu Sougoumarane, who created Vitess, the database clustering system that scaled YouTube’s MySQL infrastructure.supabase
According to the company’s blog post, Supabase plans to use the capital to accelerate development of open-source Postgres tools, support growth, and provide liquidity for employees. The company said the round reflects growing enterprise adoption as AI-native applications increasingly rely on robust database infrastructure capable of handling vector search, real-time data, and agentic workflows.prnewswire
